What are fibroids?
These are masses of benign tissue that grow in the uterus. The source is the smooth muscle of the uterine wall. Who is at risk?

Those with large fibroid growths may need to have them surgically removed from the uterus. Endometrial ablation, myomectomy, hysterectomy and endometrial polyp removal are common surgical methods used.
